Polymorphism of the Insulin Resistin (RETN) gene in susceptibility to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in an Iranian population
Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is the most common endocrine disorder, affecting 5-10% of women of reproductive age. Major complications of PCOS include infertility, obesity, endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial cancer, insulin resistance, hyperandrogenism, and cardiovascular issues. This study aims to investigate the polymorphism of the Insulin Resistin (RETN) gene at positions − 420 C\G and 299 A\G in relation to the susceptibility to PCOS. Methods: This case-control study included...
Genomic and transcriptomic analysis of uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma: immune Modulation, prognostic Biomarkers, and somatic alterations
Endometrial carcinoma (EC) represents the most prevalent gynecologic malignancy in developed countries and continues to pose significant clinical challenges. Despite favorable prognoses for patients diagnosed at early stages, high-grade and recurrent EC subtypes are associated with adverse outcomes and limited therapeutic options. In this study, we performed a comprehensive integrative analysis of uterine corpus endometrial carcinoma using transcriptomic and genomic data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA-UCEC) cohort. Analyses were conducted using R software employing DESeq2 for differential expression, clusterProfiler for functional enrichment, msigdbr for apoptosis-related gene, maftools for somatic mutations, and Cytoscape for regulatory network visualization. We identified 1,232 mRNAs, 531 lncRNAs, and 3 miRNAs significantly dysregulated in tumor tissues. Functional enrichment revealed prominent dysregulation of pathways involved in cell cycle control, apoptosis, immune modulation, and tissue-specific bi
Effectiveness of mindful self-compassion therapy on psychopathology symptoms, psychological distress and life expectancy in infe
Effectiveness of mindful self-compassion therapy on psychopathology symptoms, psychological distress and life expectancy in infertile women treated with in vitro fertilization : a two-arm double-blind parallel randomized controlled trial
MSC can facilitate higher life satisfaction and mental well-being for IW undergoing IVF by reducing psychological distress, psychopathological symptoms, and hopelessness. These encouraging findings call for more research into the effectiveness of mindfulness-based therapies in addressing psychological problems among IW undergoing IVF.
